Obama for President

Now as a citizen of the United States, I have the privilege to vote. I have already made up my mind about who I would elect for our next President. There is no doubt in my mind that we need a democratic leader who is willing to bring on ‘change’ that this country really needs.

Mystery Diagnosis

The clue about Vit D deficiency and the appropriate treatment is just a start. I still need to figure out the source of my neurological issues. Why do I have severe weakness on my right side? Why do I see significant muscle atrophy on my right side? Why do I have diminished reflexes on my right knee? Despite working out my right side all day, I still am struggling to retain muscle tone. This is not considered normal. I hope the neurologist will unfold this mystery once the EMG is performed!

It sounds like a bad case of siatica. My father has similar problems. He was paralysed for 3months. That was 15 years ago and he still has similar symptoms as mine.

If all goes well and I have a diagnosis, perhaps I will be on the Discovery Health show called ‘Mystery Diagnosis‘… :)

A Little Sunshine…

I have plenty of reasons to love summer. I have never enjoyed baking out in the sun on hot summery days but with the winter fast approaching, I wish the weather was a little warmer. What I need… is a little sunshine!

Trip To India

Ashwin, Riana and I are looking forward to our trip to India next month. A lot has changed since the last time we visited our families in 2005. Mom and dad were here last year for Riana’s birth. When they left, Riana was almost six months old. My sisters are yet to meet Riana. I missed weddings of both my sisters. When my sister Soni got married, I was seven months pregnant and was restricted to travel by air. When my other sister Surekha got married, I was a consultant at my company and did not have vacation benefits. I am looking forward to meeting my brother-in-laws and other family additions. I have a sweet 6 month old nephew. I am sure Riana will have fun with him. My older sister Surekha is expecting to have a baby in Feb ‘09. There is a lot of catching up to do… and not enough time…Three weeks is just not enough. We will try to make the best out of the time we have.

The count down has begun…

I’m Back…

A lot of you have asked me why I haven’t blogged in a little while. Life’s been too busy lately. I have however been posting on Riana’s website. I will try to keep up with my blogs too. It’s good to know that people are actually interested in reading! :)

Living with Pain…

My blog has now become my way to vent my feelings of despair. In the last several months, my life has revolved around hospitals. I know I sound complaining but just when I thought things may be getting better, life took a turn around… I have tried everything from cortisone injections and physical therapy to chiropractors, acupuncture and massage therapy. I have to deal with pain in my neck, shoulder, arm, hip, low back, knee and ankle. Sounds awful… Doesn’t it? What is worrisome is that all my symptoms are only on my right side.
